Bleeding Heart

Once this lovely perennial blooms, it is evident where it gets its name! Bleeding Heart features heart-shaped pink or white blooms with a protruding tip at the base of the heart that is in a contrasting color. The foliage is an attractive bluish-green. Some types bloom only in the spring while other bloom spring, summer, and fall, provided the temperatures aren’t too high. We typically grow the spring bloomers here in Arkansas due to the high summer heat.
