Fatsia is a distinctive, evergreen shrub with large, hand-shaped leaves that fan out on stiff stems all along the trunk. The large leaves provide a tropical or woodland look. The ribs of the large leaves are a chartreuse color, making this plant almost glow in a shade garden. Older plants bloom interesting flowers that attract bees. There are new varieties available that offer white or chartreuse variegated leaves.
