Nandina
Nandina, also known as heavenly bamboo, may be the only member of this genus but there are many cultivars! Nandinas are evergreen or semi-evergreen shrubs that range greatly in mature size, with foliage color and blooming being cultivar specific. Usually, Nandina foliage is richly colored both when young and in the fall, plus they also feature profuse, bright red fruit. Flowers are small and white but form clusters in late spring or mid-summer. The bright berries last until the following spring. Some cultivars may be used as a fine textured groundcover.
