Mazus is a very low growing, mat-froming groundcover that spreads via above ground shoots that root down where they touch soil. Although mazus is considered evergreen or semi-evergreen, there may be winter die back visible before the spring flush of growth. Mazus feature blue or white blooms in the spring. Mazus fills in quickly but is not considered aggressive. This is a good, low groundcover to plant between stones. Plant in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
