Stokesia
Stokesia, also known as Stoke’s Aster, feature long, narrow leaves which branch out from the center of the plant clump. Large, dramatic blooms rise above the lower growing foliage from spring to fall. Stokesia are native to the southeast United States, and although it is a tough, versatile plant, they are ideally suited to the south. They handle the rainfall, humid summers and sticky clay with ease, plus have natural defenses to many diseases and insect pests. For these reasons, this is a low maintenance, tough perennial for southern gardens.
